Certificates & verification

Use a certificate for CPD

Many professions ask members to keep learning and to report it themselves. This is called self-reported continuing professional development, or CPD. You write down what you studied, and you keep proof.

Some bodies, such as CPA Ontario, HRPA and teachers’ colleges, may accept a certificate of completion as that proof. Each body decides for itself. Moxlearn is not an approved provider for any body. Whether a certificate counts is up to your body.

To record a course:

  1. Open the certificate in the You tab and choose “Download CPD record”. It is a text file.
  2. Write down the hours of instruction, rounded down to the half hour, and the dates you started and finished.
  3. Add the learning objectives, the certificate number and the verification link.
  4. Keep the certificate (print or save it as a PDF) with your record.

Hours count video lessons only. Time on assignments is not included.

Before you log anything, check your body’s rules on what it accepts. For example, CPA Ontario explains its rules at https://assets.cpaontario.ca/members/regulations-guidance/pdfs/CPD-Requirements-Guide.pdf.
